A tradition of trust
What to expect in a Buddhist Columbarium?
In Buddhism, The Buddha and Guan Yin statues guard the departed one and offer blessings and best wishes to all present. The welcoming environment also provides a convenient meeting place for the whole family to come together to honor the deceased.
Ashes of the dead can be put in a columbarium. Which may be connected to a Buddhist temple or graveyard, or part thereof.
This custom requires the deceased’s family to enter the temple for traditional memorials and ancestral rituals to be carried out.
